WHAT IS RESPONSIVE?

Responsive is a smart fabric technology based on far-infrared (fir) radiation. Responsive contains a blend of naturally-occurring, thermoreactive minerals. The active particles are blended to make a master batch, which is applied as a fabric print or loaded into high-performance synthetic fibres which are combined with other yarns to make unique hybrid fabrics for specific activities.

CAN YOU MAKE INFRARED VISIBLE?

No. Normal infrared thermo-cameras and night vision devices are able to detect Near Infrared. However, Responsive works with Far-infrared radiation, which has a different wavelength. The longer wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation in the infrared region of the spectrum are beyond the red end of the visible spectrum, from 50 to 1000 micrometres.

DOES INFRARED HAVE ANY NEGATIVE EFFECTS FOR YOUR BODY/HEALTH? CAN IT BE HARMFUL?

No. Not infrared from FIR-emitting minerals embedded in fibres. We are immersed in infrared radiation every day in the form of natural electromagnetic radiation from the sun. Infrared therapy (infrared saunas etc.) may have possible health risks, but not thermoreactive minerals in fabrics.

HOW DOES FIR FABRIC TECHNOLOGY WORK?

Research has found that Far-infrared radiation transfers radiant energy. Far-infrared radiation can be absorbed by but is also emitted by the human body. FIR-emitting minerals embedded into fibres can emit this radiant energy so that it penetrates the skin and stimulates cutaneous blood circulation. Far-infrared radiation energy from the human body is transferred to Responsive’s mineral particles, which act as “absorbers”. Far-infrared radiation emitted from the skin is absorbed by the minerals, which then re-emit the same FIR back to the skin. The minerals absorb, store and re-emit FIR energy back to the body.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE INFRARED REFLECTION TO START WORKING?

20 Minutes. After 20 minutes, infrared reflection starts. This was confirmed during testing. The reflection continues for as long as you wear the garment.

WHEN SHOULD I START WEARING IT?

To obtain maximum muscle fatigue reduction, it is recommended to start wearing a garment made with Responsive technology about 30 minutes before exercise.

HOW LONG SHOULD I WEAR IT?

To obtain maximum recovery benefits, it is recommended to wear a garment made with Responsive yarns for at least six hours a day to obtain full benefits.

DOES INFRARED HAVE ANY EFFECT ON TECHNICAL DEVICES? SMARTPHONES? HEART PACEMAKERS? AVALANCHE BEACONS?

NO

IS THE EFFECT HIGHER IF I WEAR MORE LAYERS OF RESPONSIVE?

Increasing layers does not improve the effects of Responsive. However, increasing coverage does. The more of your body you can cover, the more points the technology can activate, and the more you benefit. Ideally, you could wear with a Responsive beanie

WILL THE RESPONSIVE MINERALS WASH OUT?

No, Responsive technology is a permanent part of the fabric and will not wash out.

DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE HOW FAR THE RESPONSIVE LAYER IS FROM THE BODY?

No, it makes no difference.

WHICH MINERALS DO WE USE IN RESPONSIVE?

We use different blends of thermoreactive minerals to deliver different results. The minerals include naturally occurring substances, such as calcium, magnesium, titanium, sodium, silica, aluminium, germanium, zirconium and others. The exact composition is covered by patent.

RESPONSIVE REDUCES LACTIC ACID FORMATION. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Our scientific testing shows that Responsive helps athletes to perform longer with lower lactate build-up. If you have less lactic acid you have less “waste” in your body – your body works better and you feel better. We also want to emphasise the recovery, comfort and well-being aspect of Responsive. Obviously, the amount of lactic acid reduced will vary from person to person.

RESPONSIVE ENHANCES BLOOD MICROCIRCULATION WHICH IMPROVES BODY EFFICIENCY (PERFORMANCE). WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Our scientific test results show: ACTIVITY ABOVE THE ANAEROBIC THRESHOLD (sustained high-intensity activity, such as a fast 400-metre run), the body requires more oxygen.
