Le projet
Fin été 1991. Hans Kammerlander et Hans-Peter Eisendle, deux des alpinistes les plus audacieux de tous les temps, conçoivent un nouveau défi hybride et moderne dans leurs montagnes natales : en une seule journée, ils grimpent les faces nord de l'Ortles et de la Cima Grande di Lavaredo, couvrant la distance entre les deux montagnes (246 km) by fair means, en vélo. Ce qui est né plus ou moins d'un jeu est devenu le marqueur d'une nouvelle manière de concevoir les activités alpines.
Printemps 2018. Simon Gietl et Vittorio Messini relevèrent le même défi, en ajoutant un troisième versant nord, le Grossglockner, soit 117 km de plus à parcourir en vélo. Cette aventure n'était pas seulement un hommage aux moyens hybrides, propres et durables de découvrir les montagnes, ni tout juste un exploit, ou encore un dialogue sur fond d'histoire : l'entreprise tout entière a eu l'occasion de collecter des dons pour Südtirol Hilft, une organisation caritative venant en aide aux personnes en situation d'extrême nécessité.

3+2=2 - Trois faces nord, deux randonnées à vélo et deux alpinistes : Simon et Vittorio partiront de Sulden à 19:00. L'objectif est d'atteindre le sommet de l'Ortles à 1 heure du matin, puis de redescendre en ski. Vers environ 17:30, après 10 heures de vélo, ils grimperont la voie classique de Comici-Dimai sur la Cima Grande di Lavaredo puis redescendront par le chemin habituel. Après 117 km supplémentaires en vélo, ils atteindront le Grosslockner pour entamer leur dernier effort, avant de terminer leur aventure vers 19:00 à Lucknerhaus, en Autriche. Leur objectif : compléter le projet en moins de 48 heures.
3+2=2 - Three north faces, two bike rides and two alpinists: Simon and Vittorio will start from Sulden at 7 pm. The aim is to reach the summit of Ortles at 1 am and then ski down. At around 5.30 pm, after 10 hours on their bike, they will climb the classical route Comici-Dimai on Cima Grande di Lavaredo and descend on the normal route. After another 117 kilometers by bike they will reach the Grosslockner for their last effort, before finishing their adventure at around 7.00 pm at Lucknerhaus, in Austria. Their goal: finishing the project in under 48 hours.

Simon’s life revolves around the idea of discovering, defining and climbing new routes, modern and difficult, but with traditional protections. He likes to travel and to explore new and unexpected places, but the Dolomites are still his inspiration and favourite playground.
He is an alpinist at the very core, but he doesn’t disdain practicing a lot of running, bicycling and ski touring, as a fun means of training but also just as a clean way to reach the mountains.

Simon, né en 1984, vit à Luttach, dans la vallée Aurina, et est un athlète professionnel. La vie de Simon s'articule autour de l'idée de découvrir, de définir et de grimper de nouvelles voies, modernes et difficiles, avec des protections traditionnelles. Il aime voyager et explorer des endroits aussi nouveaux qu'inattendus, bien que les Dolomites demeurent son inspiration et son terrain de jeu favori.
C'est un alpiniste au plus profond de lui, même s'il ne rechigne pas devant la course, le cyclisme et la randonnée en ski, qui sont des moyens divertissants de s'entraîner tout en étant atteignant les montagnes proprement.
VITTORIO MESSINI
PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE
Vittorio, né à Florence en 1988, vit à Kals, au pied du Grossglockner, depuis son enfance. Il est guide de montagne, et partage sa passion pour les sommets avec autrui. C'est une personne humble et motivée, qui aime se rendre en montagne de la manière la plus propre possible, ne laissant rien derrière lui et n'emportant que bons souvenirs et histoires à partager.

Vittorio, born in Florence in 1988, lives in Kals, at the feet of the Grossglockner, since he was a child. He works as a mountain guide, sharing his all-around passion for mountains with others. He is a humble and motivated person, and loves to go to the mountains in the cleanest way possible, leaving nothing behind and taking only good memories and stories to share.
