Salewa has developed a new generation of backpacks that ensure a better result. Their carrying systems keep the load close to your body, yet ensure that your back remains dry. Salewa's R&D team have developed completely new reduced contact surfaces, technical constructions and breathable materials. The minimized body contact and enhanced airflow for increased ventilation enables a reduction of 1,5 degrees Celsius in body temperature under identical conditions.

The ALP TRAINER is SALEWA’s new technical alpine hiking pack for multi-day hikes. it’s air fit 2 carrying system has 25% less surface area contact than conventional constructions and enhances airflow for maximum ventilation and a cooler back. Testing with a thermal camera, we can prove that we are able to provide a 1.6°c cooler back panel after 15 minutes’ use, compared to existing solutions.

Winter mountaineering is exciting and beautiful, but skinning up long ascents or climbing while carrying a pack causes the body to perspire as it works to lower its temperature. This can leave your back and shoulders soaked with sweat and at risk of overcooling, especially if temperatures drop or the wind picks up when belaying or during descents. Our Contact Flow Fit carrying system provides a ground-breaking solution to this problem. It allows higher perspiration per cm² than conventional constructions and lowers the temperature in the central back area by 1.6°C after 15 minutes.
