STIGMATA

#NEWS #ATHLETESTORY

What road leads to the sublime? And what does “sublime” really mean? In Val Badia, between the Odle mountains and Sas Dla Crusc, there is a little church which is neat and tidy. Nearby, in a meadow, a Christ and the two wooden thieves gasping for ever, nailed down to their crosses. In front of those three sculptures two alpinists silently observe a route: their route, the one they have just freed, their own, very personal path towards the sublime. Not all stories can be written: for some there are no ideal words. Others though can be sensed from clues: from the way in which Simon Gietl and Andrea Oberbacjer look at that wall, for example, or from how they smile, especially with their eyes. There: this is a sublime story made of details and clues.
