BIO

The original idea of paragliding – climbing a mountain and then gliding down into the valley, free as a bird, surrounded by breathtaking scenery – captivated me so much during an alpine trip to Valais in Switzerland that I started paragliding in 2015. My aim was to paraglide from 4000 m, so I was highly motivated to obtain the necessary paragliding knowledge and experience as quickly as possible. My dream came true three months after I received my paragliding licence. Adding paragliding to my skill set allowed me to discover the immense potential for adventure when it came to flying. Because the combination of hiking, mountaineering and paragliding – or even bivvy flying – makes it possible to reach the most remote valleys and the most imposing peaks under your own steam, teamed with the power of nature.

Activities pursued:
Paragliding offers an enormous amount of variety, be it acro paragliding, cross-country paragliding or speed flying. But what I like most is the opportunity to combine paragliding with other mountain sports. I’ve almost always got my paraglider with me when I go mountaineering, speed hiking, hiking, climbing or ski touring. My greatest passion in this regard is, of course, discovering new remote areas when I’m on bivvy “hike & fly” trips lasting several weeks.

Hobbies:
I spend most of my free time outdoors in the countryside – mainly in the mountains, of course. Mountain biking, racing biking, mountaineering, climbing, trail running, speed hiking and paragliding are some of my favourite things to do.

Favorite place:
Out in the countryside! There are so many beautiful and partly still unknown places to be discovered.

Favorite book:
“The Why Café” by John Strelecky. This book has helped me a lot and shown me how to concentrate on things in life that are important to me.

Biggest fear:
No longer being able to experience mountaineering, paragliding or bivvy flying.
