ISPO AWARDS - ORTLES HEAVY DOWN
During ISPO Munich 2016, probably the most important sporting goods trade show in the world, SALEWA received an award for a grand total of four different products.
“Receiving four ISPO Awards at once is a remarkable result for any brand,” said Maurizio Priano, our marketing director… “and this confirms that SALEWA is one of the most innovative mountain brands.”
One of those products was our Ortles Heavy Down Jacket. We engineered it to withstand the harshest conditions in the mountains, but integrated subtle design details that make it so stylish that people still wanted to wear it during colder days during the winter season in town. OK, yes, we know that some mountaineers never wear anything but their down jackets, wherever they are.
For the insulation, we use different fills at different zones: white duck down (90/10 cuin 750) in a 3D-box-chamber construction provide natural insulation at the chest and arms, and 170g PrimaLoft® Silver synthetic insulation at the shoulders (because it’s more water-resistant), hem, and cuffs where reduced bulk is needed for gloves and your harness.
We were particularly proud of the concealed zippered gusset on the hood that allows you to make the hood large enough to accommodate a helmet. And the kangaroo pockets to provide a comfortable positioning of the hands for chilling-out.
