ISPO Gold Award for Salewa Mountain Trainer 2 Winter GTX®

Winter is a magnificent season – especially for mountaineers – but having the right equipment is essential. The new Mountain Trainer 2 Winter GTX features a sure-grip Vibram® Icetrek II sole designed with Arctic Grip cold weather technology specifically for use on snow and wet ice, while a Gore-Tex® membrane keeps feet wonderfully warm and dry.

For the footbed on the Mountain Trainer 2 Winter GTX, Salewa incorporates its exclusive mineral mix, which absorbs infrared energy produced by the body and gradually emits it back over time. Salewa calls this innovative technology Responsive and has had its performance tested and confirmed by the Polytechnic University of Turin – with impressive results. The boot is made with traditional handcrafted expertise in Europe.

Blending natural functionality with technical innovation, and traditional heritage with modern technology runs through the entire product development at Salewa. The Mountain Trainer 2 Winter GTX is a perfect example of this hybrid approach.

The warm, waterproof and stylish boot is designed to cover a wide range of winter uses, from deep winter walks and relaxed hikes to mountain huts and simple day hikes. It features an intelligent Kevlar 3F System to provide maximum flexibility at the ankle, whilst offering stability and support for the rest of the foot. The soft, suede upper is highly comfortable and female users will appreciate that the women’s version has an extra warm GORE-TEX® lining.
