ELINE LE MENESTREL

DATE OF BIRTH: 30/03/1998
ACTIVITY: SPORT CLIMBING, MULTIPITCH, BIG WALLS, TRAD CLIMBING

BIO

Born in Fontainebleau, a well-known mecca for everyone in love with bouldering, Eline grew up in Barcelona, since her parents decided to move there for the amazing amount of rock that Catalunya has to offer. She started climbing with her family, as a kid. As a kid, few things are as exciting as traveling around the world from crag to crag, from boulder to boulder.

Eline is deeply in love with nature, especially with the mountains and with the lines they draw towards the sky.

Activities practiced:
Climbing: something that has always been there, not only something inherited from her family. An instrument to develop her potential, a tool do build and develop values, a piece of her identity that will always be special, a way to express her love for life. She loves learning new things and trying to build bridges between her passions.

Hobbies:
Eline plays the flute since when she was five, and after high school she entered a superior Conservatory to study classical music. And she quit, because staying put in a room for hours, rehearsing and rehearsing, does not really match with her passion for climbing. Still, music is more than a hobby, it’s a real passion: Eline keeps traveling with her flute, and she feels naked if she doesn’t have it with her.

Favorite place:
Céüse! The cliff where she spent most of her summers since the age of fourteen. Best limestone in the world, a huge list of king lines to try, and always old or new friends to meet.

Favorite book:
Maybe it’s not her favourite book, but Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse was life changing. Eline also loves Albert Camus and French poetry.

Biggest fear:
Unfulfilled potential
