BIO

Try to imagine that you were born in Meran, a small city in Alto Adige – Südtirol. You grew up surrounded by mountains: going north there are the Venoste Alps, going west the Ortles and the Gran Zebrù, going south you find the Adamello, and going east the Dolomites are waiting for you. You grew up surrounded by mountains, and if you are the curious type the questions of what is behind and beyond the peaks you see every morning burn in your mind. Well, if your father is already a paragliding pilot, it’s very likely that you will develop not only a curiosity but a strong passion for paragliding. It’s fun, it’s the means to answer your question - to see what’s behind that peak, and it’s a perfect way to challenge yourself, understanding where’s your limit – and pushing it forward. If you wonder why Aaron Durogati, 31 years old, but always feeling younger, is so much into the explorative dimension of flying and so keen to be an outstanding athlete in order to test his limits - pushing past any perceived barrier and setting new benchmarks - Well, this is your answer.

Activities practiced:
Paragliding (cross country, acro, speed riding, speed flying), ski mountaineering, steep skiing, ice climbing, and mountain running; often joined together and cross-combined in new forms of exploration and expression.
Hobbies:
Aaron likes to hang out on highlines and to cruise around on his longboard. Base jumping is a recent interest as well.
Favorite place:
It’s still Meran. Thumbs up for Meran!
Favorite book:
Hubert Aupetit, “I visitatori del cielo”, a book about paragliding written about 30 years ago.
Biggest fear:
Beside spiders, Aaron is afraid of a misfortune. It might sometimes seem conflicting, but everything he does is very well trained, calculated and reasoned.
