IRON FLY

- THE CHALLENGE -

Seven days to cross the Central Alps, starting from Lecco and passing through Monte Rosa, Bormio, Presanella. 458 kilometres through Lombardy, Piedmont and Canton Ticino, a ring that can only be covered by two means: paragliding and one's own legs.

Hike and Fly. It's not enough to be good pilots or to have a lot of breath, to win this race. You need something more: a constant and global training to know how to dominate the earth and also the sky, two distinct elements through which you have to move with strength and lightness, with courage and delicacy.

An average human being makes thousands of choices every day, from the simplest to the most crucial, and in a race like this the fundamental decisions are many, starting from the right equipment: light and resistant, performing and comfortable, designed to adapt in a smart way to the needs of the athletes.

In a competition like this, every choice has consequences that can be quantified in minutes gained and kilometers covered: thanks to live tracking you can discover and follow where the athletes are, and what they do in the race.

And at the end there is also fortune playing its role. Good luck.

THE COLLECTION OF OUR ATHLETES

The long experience with the Red Bull X-Alps and the collaboration with our athletes have taught us a lot about what is really important during speed hiking activities: light and breathable clothing, able to adapt to changing weather and temperature conditions throughout the day, as well as lightweight footwear, engineered for dynamic movement that offer good grip and support even after many hours of walking on irregular and slippery ground.
