Rucksack buying tips

  1. Start off by considering the purpose for which you need the rucksack. Special thought should be given to the volume of the rucksack. Buy the rucksack large enough so that there is sufficient space for 70 percent of the possible applications. Should you have a little more baggage at some point, you can increase the volume of several SALEWA rucksack models, or affix some of the products that you are carrying along on the outside of the rucksack.
  2. Allow the carrying system to be adjusted. In particular, the length of the back and the aluminium struts must fit perfectly. Make sure you take sufficient time for this and let the salesperson make adjustments until it really fits.
  3. Adjust the length of the shoulder strap and the length of the hip belt and, most importantly, pull tightly on the hip belt.
  4. Carry the rucksack for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Take a couple of steps inside the shop, climb up and down stairs and, in so doing, always take a couple of steps at a time. If the rucksack doesn’t follow all movements, presses strongly somewhere, or the hip belt limits the freedom of movement altogether, then try another SALEWA model. SALEWA offers various back systems, one is guaranteed to fit.
