But above and beyond these, the mountain offers space and time for encounters. Cultural exchanges, international companionship, respect for others and for nature. To ascend, sweat and celebrate together – sometimes only to enjoy silence together.

If there are many ways to experience the mountains, there are also many different individuals and organisations to facilitate it.
Alpine clubs and mountain lodge wardens, specialised travel agencies and organisers all work every day to create and maintain the conditions for an enjoyable and safe trip in the alpine regions. The mountain guides and mountain rescue services lead the way: Climbers who put their own health and even lives at risk to ensure the health and safety of others.

We, at SALEWA, think these activities are important and worthy of support.  Therefore, we work together with representatives from these areas and supply them with fabrics and equipment. By means of a close, honest, and respectful dialogue we receive constant feedback on the areas of application of our products and the potential for improvement.
